Celebrating Five Years of Impact: Josh Riffe’s V3 Journey

At V3 Distribution, milestones are an opportunity to recognize the people whose expertise, adaptability, and commitment move us forward. This year, we’re proud to celebrate Josh Riffe and his five years of meaningful contributions to our team.

 

Since joining V3, Josh has embraced new challenges and grown alongside the business. From supporting Dell product management to helping strengthen the Dell team and now leading it, he has built a career defined by practical problem-solving, deep product knowledge, and a focus on delivering for customers. To mark the occasion, we asked Josh to share the lessons, wins, and memorable moments that have shaped his first five years at V3.

 

Reflecting on 5 Years: A Q&A with Josh

 

What is the most significant thing you’ve learned in 5 years?

“How to manage inventory: what to buy, when to buy it, and where and how to sell it. Ultimately, it requires getting creative, understanding customers’ needs, and having the right product in stock to meet demand.”

   

What stands out as your biggest professional win?

“Closing a large opportunity when a manufacturer couldn’t fulfill the order within the customer’s timeframe. We were able to come up with a solution that leveraged our stock and technical expertise.”

   

What is your favorite memory at V3?

“To celebrate an awesome quarter, everyone from sales to operations took a trip to a local go-kart track. These were the real-deal karts that could hit over 40 mph. It was a blast racing around, enjoying an afternoon off together, and seeing who was the fastest. Unfortunately, it wasn’t me, as much as I tried.”

   

What surprised you most about your current role?

“Just how much specific knowledge you need and how much of a technical expert you have to be on the product. Each generation has small but important changes and quirks that can make getting customers what they need easier—or much harder. Knowing what makes the servers tick and, in turn, having the right parts makes a world of difference.”

   

What are you looking forward to most this year?

“Continuing to build on the momentum we have now and navigating the crazy waters of the current hardware market. The cherry on top is that I get to do it with those around me who make it all possible.”
